Bespoke modular units for the food industry

Food and Drink Matters is pleased to announce that Fisher Modular Construction (UK) Ltd have received our much deserved Building Supplier Company of the Month profile for their first rate manufacturing services.

Fisher UK was established in January 2007 by founder Jonathan Fisher. Based in East Yorkshire, Fisher UK manufacture bespoke modular buildings for a variety of different food processing companies.

Using modular units, Fisher UK create custom-built facilities to cater to every need of the client. Either standalone or multiple configurations can be used in order to create a facility featuring all the components the client requires, and whether they handle meat, seafood, poultry or chilled foods, Fisher’s versatile units provide the ideal solution.

As a turnkey service provider, Fisher UK oversee every aspect of the building supply, with manufacturing taking place at their East Yorkshire factory and monitored by an in-house team.

Their fully comprehensive service includes conception, design, manufacturing and even installation. In addition to being bespoke, Fisher UK’s units come with a wide range of benefits, such as being up to 40% cheaper than traditional building methods, easy to install and ready for use, often on the day of delivery.

We spoke with founder Jon Fisher on Fisher UK’s many benefits. He explained, “The benefits of our buildings are very simple, they offer a quick, cost-effective yet long-term solution to increase production space for either a start-up business or an existing operation. So, if you are struggling to find suitable business premises or have constraints with converting existing buildings, then we can provide a modular solution that is specifically designed for your business’ needs or, if you have an existing operation and your current premise has reached its capacity, then we can provide modular buildings to extend your work space.”

As one of the UK’s top building suppliers, Fisher UK are relied upon by businesses across the country, whether they be meat processing companies, wholesale butchers, farmers, fish processing companies, charcuteries and several government organisations.

Jon added, “Our latest project will be licensed as an EC approved meat cutting plant for a wholesale butcher in the South East. This unit consists of a goods entrance and exit lobby, a reception chiller, processing and packing room, and a staff entrance with changing rooms and a welfare facility. It was built at our factory, transported to site and craned into position. We only ever had two people on site, so the existing business suffered minimal disruption.”

An upcoming project that Fisher UK are working on is a range of large scale portable cold stores that will come to the market for sale rather than hire, investing in these modular units will be a favourably economic option than committing to long-term hire contracts for cold storage requirements. Fisher UK are also extending their footprint in Ireland and will be installing a building in County Offaly at the end of November.

Fisher UK have attended a number of trade shows, such as Foodex and Meatup, and also have a robust social media presence which has boosted the business even more.
