What does the + mean at the end of BRCGS AA+?

AA is the highest on the grading scale but the + means it was an unannounced audit. It doesn’t get any better or tougher than this!

National Flexible is the first UK packaging distributor to be accredited to the ADAS Hygiene Standard way back in the last century! At that time, we also had many extremely tough brand owner audits. The introduction of the BRCGS (Brand Reputation through Compliance of Global Standards) certification removed the need for a lot of these but, yet again, we were one of the first packaging companies to achieve an AA rating. As the standards change, we pride ourselves on being in front of the curve so having an unannounced audit was something that we welcomed.

Having said that our Quality Assurance team was a little apprehensive as they didn’t know what to expect, but there was no need to worry! A truly phenomenal achievement by everyone.

Recognised globally, BRCGS certifications provide customers with the confidence that their supplier meets the highest standards of hygiene and production management and having a high-level certification like AA+ shines a spotlight on our business. Not only does it prove that we are committed to supplying the best possible product and dedicated to continuous improvement, but it also shows that we are a safe choice for our customers.

Our customers can rest safe in the knowledge that the packaging we supply is to the highest standard and is manufactured in a way that reduces the risk of contamination and makes sure the product is always consistent and of the best quality.

George Slack, MD, National Flexible, commented, “This is a fantastic result, I am so proud of our team and their dedication to ensuring they always maintain the highest quality and hygiene standards. The unannounced auditor was particularly complimentary about everyone’s passionate commitment to maintaining consistently high standards and continuous improvement within a strong company culture. The award is a testament to the hard work and the rigorous hygiene/safety procedures we have in place, along with their constant implementation throughout the business.”

Having a high-level certification shows we are committed to improving constantly. It’s not just about meeting standards, it’s about us smashing them – and continuing to do so.

If you are looking for a packaging partner who strives to increase the standard of production and creativity of design, you can put your trust in us.
