Based in Warrington, England, Croft Filters specialise in supplying quality custom filters. Backed with over 34 years of experience, Croft Filters can deliver services with a high level of expertise and consultancy to a variety of diverse industrial sectors, including the Food and Beverage sector.
Some products supplied by Croft Filters, slot tubes and run-down screens are widely used within the food processing industry to separate liquid and solid.
Commonly formed from stainless steel wedge wire, slot tubes provide large filter areas which reduce the possibility of impurities getting clogged at the filter barriers. Wedge wire construction also contributes to the durability and effectiveness of the filters, with two popular designs: Radial Slot and Axial Slot. The slot tubes are suitable for high-pressure and high-accuracy filtrations.
Croft Filters can supply slot tubes to many varied specifications, including custom-made end fittings to suit customers’ applications. A particular customer was able to reduce processing time and improve productivity by applying slot tubes to their production system. (See the case study here).
For applications that require larger capacity, rundown screens can be used, especially within the dewatering processes. Each unit consists of an outer body made of mild steel or stainless steel; an inlet chamber and a wedge wire curved screen, where the separating process happens. While the liquid is extracted through the screen into an underflow collecting chamber, solid particles are deposited on the screen, slide to the bottom and then onto a solids discharge chute due to gravity. This is a cost-effective and highly efficient method of liquid and solid separation.
Not only can Croft Filters provide rundown screens but the Company can also clean, repair and replace damaged components to help the customers make the most out of the filter frames and reduce waste to the landfills.
